Latr vs OneTab: which is better? (2026)

OneTab: Turns every open tab into one list with a click, to restore later one at a time or all at once. Latr: a tab snoozer that reopens the page on its own at the time you pick, where you stopped reading. Here is where each one is the better choice.

Features and pricing checked 13 October 2026 against: OneTab on the Chrome Web Store , one-tab.com .

The short answer

Which one to choose

Choose Latr if

the tabs you are hoarding are waiting for a moment - a sale, a deadline, a reply - and you want each one back at that moment rather than in a list you have to remember to open.

Choose OneTab if

you want the fastest possible way to clear a window into a list, and you are happy to go back to the list yourself.

Honestly

Where each one wins, and where it falls short

Where Latr wins

  • Every saved tab can carry a time, and it reopens on its own when that time arrives.
  • Reopens at the line you stopped reading.
  • Shares a list as a link that carries the tabs inside it - nothing is uploaded.
  • No tab access at install; OneTab asks for it up front.

Where Latr falls short

  • Saving a window takes a choice of time or Keep, where OneTab is one click with no question.
  • Nine interface languages against OneTab’s 48.
  • No Safari version.
  • A fraction of OneTab’s users and ratings.

Where OneTab wins

  • One click turns a whole window into a list - the simplest gesture in the category.
  • Two million Chrome users and 14,600 ratings: the most proven tool here.
  • In 48 languages, and on Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
  • Updated on 11 October 2026 in all three stores we checked.

Where OneTab falls short

  • Nothing in its listing or site schedules a tab to come back - the list waits until you go back to it.
  • Sharing uploads your list to a web page; it is the one feature that sends your tabs anywhere.
  • The installed extension asks for tab access up front.

The core difference

What actually separates Latr and OneTab

OneTab is a place to put tabs; Latr is a time to get them back. OneTab’s whole gesture is "clear this window now", and the list waits, unsorted by urgency, until you open it. Latr asks one question OneTab does not - when do you need this again? - and then the page reopens itself at that moment, at the paragraph you were on. If you never need a tab at a particular time, OneTab’s single click is hard to beat. If the reason a tab is open is that something happens on Friday, a list does not remind you on Friday.

Switching

Switching from OneTab

Use OneTab’s export to copy your list as text, and paste it into Latr’s import (Settings, Your data, Bring in what you already have): every blank line in OneTab’s export is a group, and each group arrives in Latr as its own folder, with the page titles OneTab wrote. Nothing is scheduled - imported pages land in the library with no time until you give them one.

Latr’s import reads a pasted list, a bookmarks HTML file, and export files from OneTab, Toby, Session Buddy, Raindrop.io and Pocket. Groups and titles survive for the formats it knows; any other file that contains web addresses comes in as a list of links. Only http and https links are kept, and anything left out is counted.

Questions

Latr vs OneTab: common questions

Can Latr import my OneTab list?

Yes. Copy your list from OneTab’s export as text and paste it into Latr’s import. OneTab’s groups survive as folders and the titles come with the links. You can watch the same rules run on the import playground before installing.

Does Latr save memory like OneTab?

A tab you save in Latr is closed, so it uses no memory, in the same way a tab sent to OneTab does. Latr can also sleep open tabs you have not used in a while. It does not publish a memory-saving figure.

Is OneTab or Latr more private?

Both say your tab addresses are not sent to their developers. OneTab’s own listing names one exception: its share-as-a-web-page feature uploads the list. Latr’s share links carry the tabs inside the link itself, so there is no server copy, and a free Latr install makes no network requests.

Is Latr or OneTab free?

Latr: Free; Pro is $19 once, for themes, sounds and extras. OneTab: Free - no paid plan on its listing or site.

Close the tab.
It will come back.

Free, no account, and nothing leaves your device. About ten seconds to install, and one keystroke to use.

Also on Brave, Vivaldi, Arc and Opera - straight from the Chrome Web Store listing.
