Click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar and press the pin next to Latr. The icon shows a live countdown to your next reminder, which is most of the value of having it visible.
Latr uses your operating system's notifications. If they're blocked for Chrome at the OS level, Latr will tell you so in the popup rather than failing quietly — but it's worth checking now rather than discovering it when something matters.
Find any page with a date on it. Highlight the date, right-click, choose Remind me about this. That's the whole product, and it's the part nothing tells you about unless you go looking.
Options → Notifications. Nothing fires inside your window, and a reminder due at 3am waits until morning rather than waking you.
Shortcuts can be rebound at chrome://extensions/shortcuts — on
