Numbers never shuffle
A window keeps its number for as long as it is open. Moving tabs out of Window 2 never turns it into Window 1 while you watch.

Automatic snapshots take turns - the extension keeps the newest ten by default. A window you named, archived or brought back is kept until you delete it.
Every drag has a keyboard route
Anything you can drag you can also move from the card's own menu, to any window that is open or to a new one.
