Import playground

Bring the list. Keep the groups.

Paste an export from the tool you are leaving, or try one of the samples. Every name and every group should come through - and anything that is not a web address stays behind, counted.

What it will never do

Your list arrives as you left it

It never flattens your groups

A blank line, a bookmarks folder or a list inside a JSON file is a group you built on purpose. It comes through as one.

It never keeps a script

Only web addresses survive. A bookmarklet or any other link that is not http or https is left out - and the count says how many.

One import, one undo

Everything from one file arrives together, so taking it back is one action rather than four hundred deletes.

Which files can Latr import?

A pasted list of links, a plain text export with a blank line between groups, a bookmarks HTML file as every browser exports it, a CSV with a URL column, and JSON exports from tab and bookmark tools. The format is read from the file itself, and anything it does not recognise is still read as text, so the worst case is a flat list rather than an error.

Does importing keep my groups and page titles?

Yes. Groups separated by a blank line, bookmark folders and the lists inside a JSON export all survive, and each link keeps the title the file gave it. A title is only read where the line marks one off, so a sentence around a link is never mistaken for its name.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. Latr reads the file you pick inside your browser and needs no permission to do it. There is no server to upload to, and this playground does not send what you paste either.

Settings, Your data, Import. Latr reads the file inside your browser with no permission at all. Free, no account, and nothing leaves your device.
