Terms of use
Latr is free, runs entirely on your own device, and has no accounts. These terms are short because there is very little to agree to.
What you are agreeing to
By installing and using Latr you accept these terms. If you do not, uninstalling the extension is the whole of what is required — there is no account to close and no data held anywhere for us to delete, because there is no server.
Cost
Latr is free to use. There is no paid tier, no subscription and no trial, and no feature is locked behind a payment.
The settings page has an optional “buy me a coffee” link. It is entirely voluntary, it changes nothing about how the extension works, and tipping unlocks nothing — there is nothing to unlock. Payment is handled by that service, not by us, and we never see your card details.
A Pro plan is described on the pricing page as planned. It does not exist yet and cannot be purchased. If it ships, the core loop of saving a page and being reminded on it remains free, and nothing that works today will be moved behind a paywall.
Nothing inside Latr itself ever asks for card details, a password, or an account. Treat anything claiming otherwise as not being us.
Your reminders are yours
You keep every right to the content you create. We claim no licence over it and cannot see it. Latr stores everything in your browser’s own extension storage, and the export feature exists so you can take it with you at any time.
Reliability, stated plainly
Latr schedules reminders using your browser’s alarm system, which only runs while your browser is running. If your computer is asleep or the browser is closed when a reminder is due, it arrives when the browser next opens, and Latr will tell you it is late. Operating systems can also delay or suppress notifications, and you can block them at system level.
For anything where being reminded genuinely matters — a flight, a deadline, a medication — use the calendar handoff as well, or set a second alarm elsewhere. Latr is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind, and we are not liable for anything arising from a reminder that did not arrive or arrived late. This is not us dodging responsibility; it is an accurate description of what a browser extension can promise.
Acceptable use
Do not use Latr to break the law, and do not use the share-link feature to send people content that is unlawful or abusive. A share link is created and sent by you, not by us — it contains no server component and passes through nothing we operate.
Other services
Latr can hand a reminder to Google Calendar or Outlook by opening their own event page
with the details filled in. Those services are not ours and are governed by their own
terms and privacy policies. The .ics export contacts nobody.
Changes
These terms may change when the extension does. Material changes will be noted here with a new date. Continuing to use Latr after a change means accepting it.
