Pinned and grouped tabs stay put
Grouping only gathers loose tabs. A tab you pinned or grouped yourself is never moved, and a site needs two tabs before it becomes a group.

Only exact duplicates close
Two tabs count as duplicates only when the address matches exactly, and the tab you are on or a pinned tab is never the one closed.
A window comes back as a window
A saved window keeps its groups, their names and colours, and restores as a window - not as a pile of tabs in the one you are using.
