Shopping, trips and forms.
Back when they matter.

A ticket sale on Friday, a sofa you want to look at again after payday, a trip you are halfway through planning, an application you will finish tomorrow. Each one is a web page and a moment. Latr keeps the two together, so the page reopens on its own when it is time.

Moments

Remind me to check ticket availability, at the exact time

Some pages matter at one moment and no other: the general sale at 10am, the restock on Thursday, the booking window that opens at midnight. Leaving the tab open does not work, because by then it is one tab among forty. A calendar entry gets you the alert but not the page.

  1. 1
Select the date on the page and right-click.

Highlight “General sale: Friday 10am”, open Latr's menu and choose Read the date I selected. The time is read out of the words, and the page is saved against it. Or open the popup and type the time yourself: “saturday 9am”, “in 2 hours”.

  2. 2
    Add an early warning.

Fifteen minutes before is about right for a queue. Mark it high priority and the notification stays on screen instead of fading.

  3. 3
Close the tab. At the time, the page is back.

It reopens on its own with a notification beside it. You are on the site rather than searching for it. The same works for “remember to book a flight” on the airline's page, or a restock date.

  4. 4
For the ones you cannot miss, send it to your calendar.

A browser reminder fires while the browser is running. If the laptop is shut at 10am it arrives when you next open it, which for a ticket sale is too late. One click puts the same reminder in Google Calendar, Outlook or an .ics file, so your phone has it too.

The whole setup, with what to watch for on sale pages, is in getting reminded when tickets go on sale.

Shopping

Schedule a reminder to revisit a product page

Most shopping tabs are not decisions, they are decisions postponed: wait for payday, wait for the sale, ask someone first. Latr turns each one into a page that comes back on a day you picked, so the tab can close now.

What it does not do

Watch the price

Latr does not monitor prices or page changes. It never visits a page in the background, never compares today's price with yesterday's and never tells you something dropped. If you need an alert on a price drop, that is a different kind of tool - one that has to fetch the page on your behalf.

What it does

Brings the page back

“Remind me to check this next week” is a reminder on the product page itself. At the time, the page reopens and you check it in a glance. For a page you look at on a rhythm, make it repeat - every Monday, every two weeks. See website reminders.

Compare product pages side by side

Select two tabs and press Side by side: each moves into its own window, one on the left half of the screen and one on the right. Free for two; three columns or a grid of four is Pro. The same works for two property listings, or a hotel and its map. More on tabs side by side.

Unfinished online shopping

A basket you are not ready to pay for, a size that is out of stock, a gift for next month: save each page with a time and close it. Keep the ones with no date in the library instead, and give them a time later if one turns up.

Travel

Save travel research tabs as one trip

Planning a trip produces a window of flights, hotels, maps and opening times that you cannot close until it is booked - and it is never booked in one sitting. Put the whole trip away as one thing instead.

Group the hotel and flight tabs

Put flights, places to stay and things to do in their own tab groups, by hand or with group by site. Latr can remind you about a whole group, or keep it in a library folder.

Save the window, named after the trip

Save this window keeps every tab and every group, with its name and colour. Named, it is kept until you delete it. Free, and as many trips as you like. See saving tab groups.

Reopen travel planning tabs tomorrow

Give the saved window a time - tomorrow evening, the day the fares come out - and it comes back as a reminder. Restoring opens a new window with the groups rebuilt, so you pick up where you were.

Plan it with someone else

Share the saved window as one link of up to 50 pages. Whoever you are travelling with can open every page on the list, and with Latr in Chrome or Edge adds the set in one click; nothing is uploaded, because the pages ride inside the link itself.

Admin

Remember to finish an online application

Forms, renewals and job applications are the pages people most often leave open as a reminder to themselves. Each has a better home: a time when it should come back, or a folder where it waits.

An unfinished application

Save the form with “tomorrow 9am” and close the tab. It reopens then. Latr keeps the address, not what you typed, so whatever the site saved as a draft is what you will find - if it saves nothing, finish the section you are on first.

Remind me to renew something

A reminder on the renewal page that repeats every 12 months, or monthly, or every 90 days. Every repeat is free, and it rolls forward by itself each time. See recurring website reminders.

Save job listings with reminders

Select “Applications close 14 November” on the listing and right-click, so the closing date is the reminder. Keep the rest in a Jobs folder, with tags like applied and interview to organise job application tabs by where each one has got to.

Keep track of websites you need to revisit

Everything with a time is in the queue, soonest first, with how long until each one. Snooze it when the moment was wrong, or mark it done when it is handled.

Keeping

Save recipes and organise personal bookmarks

Not everything needs a time. A recipe for the weekend, a walking route, a shop you liked - those are pages to keep, and Latr's library keeps them without any of them ever ringing.

Keep, with no time

Keep puts the page in the library. Folders and subfolders are unlimited, each page takes up to ten tags, and the cards layout shows the picture taken when you saved it, so a recipe is recognised by the look of the dish. Decide to cook it on Saturday and give it a time: it becomes a reminder.

Your browser's bookmarks, in the same place

Allow bookmarks and your browser's own folders appear in the library, fully editable: rename, move, sort and search them beside what you kept. More on the bookmark manager page.

Questions

Everyday pages, asked directly

Can Latr remind me to check a product price later?

It can remind you, and reopen the product page at the time you choose, so checking takes one glance. It does not watch the page: it never checks the price, never compares it with yesterday’s and never alerts you to a drop. A free install makes no network requests at all, so it cannot look at a page you are not looking at. Pick a time, and the page is in front of you when it comes.

How do I get reminded when tickets go on sale?

Open the announcement page, select the words that give the sale time - “General sale: Friday 10am” - right-click and choose Read the date I selected from Latr’s menu. The page reopens at that moment with a notification beside it. Add a 15-minute early warning so you are on the page before the queue forms, and send it to your calendar too, because a browser reminder cannot fire while the laptop is shut.

Can I compare product pages or property listings side by side?

Yes. Select two tabs and press Side by side: each moves into its own window, one on each half of the screen. Two is free. Three columns or a 2×2 grid of four is Latr Pro. The tabs are moved, not reloaded, so a listing you had scrolled through stays where it was.

How do I save all my travel research tabs for later?

Put the trip in one window, group the flights, hotels and things to do if you like, and choose Save this window. Name it after the trip so it is kept for good. Restoring it opens a new window with every tab and every group back in place. Give it a time and it comes back as a reminder - tomorrow evening, or the day booking opens.

Will Latr remember what I typed into an online form?

No. Latr stores the page’s address, not what you typed into it. When the reminder reopens an unfinished application, you see whatever the site itself kept - many save a draft when you are signed in, some do not. If yours does not, finish the part you can now, or copy your answers somewhere before you close the tab.

Can it remind me to renew something every year?

Yes. Set the reminder on the renewal page and choose a repeat of every 12 months - there is no option named “yearly”, but every 12 months is the same thing. Monthly, every 90 days and other intervals are there too, and all repeats are free. For a renewal you cannot miss, send it to Google Calendar, Outlook or an .ics file as well.

Does it work on my phone?

No. Latr is an extension for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and other desktop browsers built on Chrome - there is no phone or tablet version. Sending a reminder to your calendar is how it reaches your phone; the calendar entry carries the page’s address.

Close the tab.
It will come back.

Free, no account, and nothing leaves your device. About ten seconds to install, and one keystroke to use.

Also on Brave, Vivaldi, Arc and Opera - straight from the Chrome Web Store listing.
