Right-click a date on the page

Highlight the words that say when something happens, right-click, and Latr reads the time out of them. You never retype what is already on the screen.

From a selection

Select the text, right-click, then Remind me about this → and the first item, which reads the time out of what you highlighted. It sits at the top of the menu and appears only when something is selected.

Things that work, taken from the kind of page this exists for:

Tickets on sale Friday 10am
Applications close on 3 March
next Tuesday at 5pm
in two weeks
tomorrow morning

You do not need to select the date cleanly. Grabbing the whole sentence is fine — Latr looks for a time inside what you gave it and ignores the rest. The reminder is saved against the page you are on, so clicking the notification later brings back the announcement, not a note about it.

The five quick times

Under the same menu, whether or not anything is selected, are five one-tap offers:

In 15 minutes
In 30 minutes
In 1 hour
Tonight — 7pm today, or tomorrow if it is already past
Tomorrow morning — 9am

Nothing opens. The reminder is saved and a confirmation toast tells you the time it landed on. Below them is one more entry that opens the composer instead, for when you want to pick a time properly.

These are genuinely the fastest route for "not now" — faster than the keyboard shortcut if your hand is already on the mouse, because there is no window to dismiss afterwards.

Links and images

The menu appears on a link and on an image as well as on the page and on a selection. Right-clicking a link saves a reminder for that link rather than for the page you are looking at, which is what you want when you are working through a list of articles and deferring some of them.

When the selection has no time in it

Latr says so and saves nothing. It deliberately does not fall back to a default time, because a reminder silently landing at some hour you did not choose is worse than being told the selection did not work.

Two different messages exist here and the difference matters: no time found in this selection means Latr read your text and there was nothing schedulable in it. A message about the date reader failing to load means something went wrong on our side. If you ever see the second, tell us — it should not happen.

Changing what the menu offers

Settings → Ways to save a reminder controls the right-click menu, including turning the quick times off if you only ever use the selection item.

Thumbnails are per-gesture too, in Settings → Appearance, so the right-click menu can take screenshots while the address bar keyword does not — or the other way round.
