What stays free, permanently

Everything that makes a reminder work:

There is no trial and nothing expires. A free install is a finished product rather than a demonstration of one.

The limits it lifts

A free install can keep one of each: one folder, one template, one saved view, one per-site rule, and one custom site category.

One rather than zero, deliberately. A feature nobody can try is a feature nobody can want, so you meet the wall while doing something you had already chosen to do rather than reading about it on a pricing page.

What Pro will never gate

Anything that makes a reminder fire, arrive, repeat, snooze, sync or export. That is a structural rule rather than a current policy: the part of Latr that delivers reminders never reads your licence at all, so an expired licence or a licence check that cannot reach the network is incapable of costing you a notification.

Tags are never limited either, at any tier. A tag's name is the accessible label behind its colour dot, so capping tags would put an accessibility affordance behind a paywall.

If your licence lapses covers exactly what changes, which is much less than people expect.

Buying it

From the pricing page, or from the Pro card in Settings → About Latr. You get a licence key by email; activating your licence is the next step and takes about ten seconds.

One licence covers several of your own machines. Each is activated separately, and you can release a machine you are leaving so the seat is free for the next one.
