Search and saved views

What search covers

Type in the queue's search box and it matches against the reminder's title, the site it came from, and any note you added. Notes are included because they are the part you wrote in your own words, which is usually what you remember six weeks later — the page title is whatever the site called itself.

Matching is loose rather than exact. You do not have to remember the whole title, and you do not have to get the case right.

Filters

Search combines with three filters:

• Tag — anything carrying that tag
• Folder — the folder and, where it makes sense, what is under it
• Site — everything you saved from one domain

The site filter is the one people find last and use most. "Everything I saved from GitHub" is a question you ask far more often than you would guess before you have the ability to ask it.

Saved views

A view is a search and a set of filters, kept under a name. Instead of rebuilding "work folder, urgent tag, due this week" every Monday, you save it once and pick it.

Views are stored with your settings, so they travel with sync and come back with a restore.

The command palette

Ctrl+K, or Cmd+K on a Mac, opens a palette over every action and every pending reminder. Type a few letters, use the arrow keys, press Enter.

It runs the same matcher as the queue's search, so anything you can find by typing in the queue you can find here without touching the mouse. For most people it replaces the search box entirely after a week.

Esc closes it, as it closes any open menu or picker. The full keyboard list is in the keyboard reference.

Searching what already fired

Reminders that have fired stay for seven days under Recent activity in the popup, alongside a log of repeating reminders that have already rolled forward. That is where to look for "did that go off last Tuesday?".

For anything older, export. CSV export opens in a spreadsheet where you can sort and filter without limits, and includes the delivery history column if you ask for it.
